The Shadow Box

Luanne Rice ✓ 2 Summary The Shadow Box Summary ì 2 Ing for governor is her prime suspectJust before the attack Claire was preparing for an exhibit of her shadow boxes one of which clearly accuses Griffin of a violent crime committed twenty five years ago If the public were to find out who her husband is his political career would be over Claire’s certain her husband and his powerful supporters would kill her. This book gets off to an explosive start a murder or at least an attempted one Claire has come round after someone tried to kill her The someone is her husband successful protector who stands up for victims of domestic abuse But there is to Griffin than meets the eye Behind the facade he has used to his experience to literally get away with murder In his marriage to Claire he has been psychologically abusive and she is getting ready to leave him A failed marriage would wreck his career prospects It can t be allowed to happen What follows is a real interesting narrative that goes back in time before the attempted murder and after it as Claire tries to get the evidence she needs to bring Griffin to justice This is uite a long book but the short chapters make for a story with real pace I liked Claire She was gentle trusting yet had real inner strength that shone through Griffin was horrible and I enjoyed disliking him There are plenty of twists and turns in this book secret society corruption and bribery which keeps you guessing right to the end
